Artists;
Helen Musselwhite, is an artist that studied graphic design and illustration, then went on to create decorative furniture, jewellery and paintings, but soon realised her true sense of art derived for the medium paper. she creates 3D scenes, mostly landscapes and fauna. This is the reason I picked Musselwhite as an artist, 1) I really like her whimsical style, 2) her chosen media is the same as mine, this helps me gain more inspiration when viewing her work.

Parth Kothekar, works as a paper cut artist, he found this art technique while experimenting with graffiti stencils. Kothekar has even been known to describe his work as difficult, he gets motivated by a challenge. The reason I picked this artist is because I wanted to work with stencils in my own project too, the closest I got to using a stencil was a inverted stencil, I found paper cut work tedious and very hard. That makes this mans work all that more impressive.

Jasmine Becket Griffith, is an acrylic painter. Her subject matter being, fantasy and surreal. Griffith has combined fairytales into her work, her trademark is her stylised eyes and large headed ladies. This gives her paintings a feeling of fantasy and fairies, without needed to spell it out to her viewers. I believe her work comes across as magical, just because of her style. I looked into Griffith because her subject, I wanted my work to have a hint of magic to it, especially the hanging fairies, I wanted movement and flying to emerge from that piece. I don't think I captured the magic quite like Jasmine but it is something to aspire to.

Eva Charkiewidcz, is a photography artist, not my preferred method to work with, but I can still appreciate good work produced this way. The reason I choose this artist is because a lot of her work shows visible struggles, including mental health, these pieces have a slight bit of subtly to them, where mine you have to go searching for the answer and I like the way both come across to viewers. So the subject matter is the reason for this artist yet again.

Shawn Coss, describes himself as a dark art artist, back in 2016 he shifted his focus to art that helps create conversations about mental health, trying to beat the stigma around it. This makes him a good artist for me to look into as I have been wanting to show people that mental health issues can start to develop at a young age, people need to be more aware so they can help and or reduce the risk of this effecting someone you know.
